What Is Trezor Bridge
Trezor Bridge is the background mechanism that enables secure communication between your Trezor hardware wallet and your browser or Trezor Suite — removing the need for browser extensions. It acts as a silent intermediary, ensuring encrypted, seamless connections.
Why It Matters
This tool enhances security by avoiding potentially risky plugins, streamlines device detection, and supports compatibility across modern browsers and wallet interfaces. It's the essential glue that connects your hardware securely to your crypto tools.
Logging In Using Trezor Bridge
-
Install or ensure it's enabled: Trezor Suite often includes Bridge functionality built-in, while web-based access may require the Bridge to run in the background.
-
Plug in your device: Trezor Bridge detects your hardware and allows authentication via PIN and optional passphrase.
-
Authenticate as prompted on the hardware to gain access to your wallet and assets.
Logging Out or Ending Your Session
-
Disconnect your device when you're done — this is sufficient to terminate the session securely.
-
In Trezor Suite, you can also select options like “Eject Wallet” to deliberately close the session.
-
Closing browser tabs or applications also ends web session access.
Important Notes
-
The standalone Trezor Bridge application is now deprecated and may interfere with newer versions of Trezor Suite. It's recommended to remove it if you’ve previously installed it.
-
Trezor Suite (desktop) integrates Bridge functionality directly, eliminating the need for separate installation.
